A RECORD-SETTING 733 participants gathered in Washington, D.C., in August for the 2008 National Residency Preceptors Conference, the only meeting focused exclusively on residency training issues. Preceptors, residency program directors, and residents attended a variety of educational sessions on topics such as generational differences, clinical teaching roles, mentoring, and managing preceptor burnout. Participants also found ample opportunities to network at the conference, which saw an increase in attendance from the 525 attendees in 2006. The conference is held every other year.
