A New Look at Retirement

Dec 18, 2009

A NEW SURVEY of ASHP members age 50 years and older finds that many plan to either work part-time or do consulting after the age of 65. More than 1,300 members responded to the October 2008 online survey, which posed questions about their career plans as older practitioners. Members often cited the worsening economy and the ongoing need for health insurance as compelling reasons for their decision to take a “phased-in approach” to retirement. ASHP will be using the information from this survey to plan future programs.
